http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/c...ographers-know

http://www.environicsanalytics.ca/ (Click on lifestyle lookup and enter postal code).

My result is:

"Young Digerati" - tech savvy singles and couples living in fashionable in-town neighbourhoods in a handful of big cities. Affluent, highly educated and ethnically mixed. Young Digerati communities are typically filled with tasteful, high-rise apartments and expensive condos located near fitness clubs, clothing boutiques and all types of bars-from wine to coffee to microbrew. Because many residents have yet to start families, they have the time and discretionary income to pursue active social lives, enjoying dancing, bar-hopping, listening to music and going to film-festivals. And they like to look good while they're doing it, taking aerobics and Pilates classes as well as shopping for the latest fashions and electronics etc etc"

Basically I'm a twat.

I wanted to be "Lunch at Tim's"

"Fishing/hunting, Zellers, "Hockey Night in Canada", value-priced domestic beer, Fords"

Mine shows me as a "Pets and PC", sounds about right for our neighbours in the street, couples with young kids, not quite right for an old git and his wife though.

Upward Bound

Upper-middle-class homeowners with school-aged children – that’s the brief on Upward Bound, an enviable lifestyle of large families and couples across Canada. With almost equal numbers of university and high-school graduates, this cluster is home to white collar and service workers in business, management and sales. These child filled households like to spend their leisure getting exercise; jogging, skiing, aerobics and playing football are all popular. The middle-aged adults enjoy going out to community theater, casinos, sporting events and rock concerts. Their homes, most built between 1960 and 1990, are less decor showcases than messy teenage hangouts filled with computers and hi-tech electronics. Nevertheless, these parents would rather spend a quiet evening at home rather than go out to a party. In Upward Bound, residents like to control as much of their life as possible – even if it just means controlling their TV remotes.

It is not us exactly. The last time I jogged was out of a pub when it was my round. But for the neighborhood it's not a million miles away either.

Yes, I'm not a regular at Pilates classes either. Sad thing is I put in both my postcode here in TO, and my postcode from Vancouver. Both gave exactly the same (not actually a surprise given the 2 areas involved).

Interesting.

It would be more interesting if it was in any way inaccurate.

My postcode came up as
downscale neighbourhoods with row houses and low rise apartments
and that doesn't really match the reality of detached houses on double lots.

Then I noticed the name of the district attributed and it's miles away.

08 - Money & Brains

Bwahahaha I certainly don't have the money and some would argue I'm lacking the brains too.

Mine is Upward Bound. It's not true for us (or some of the other young families) but it's probably true for some of the old timers round here. I think my neighbourhood is a pretty mixed bag, but we like it. Not too wanky, not too surburban.

I wish I could remember my old postcodes, it would be interesting to see what they say.

OK did our previous townhouse. Asian Up & Comers. HAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

My only previous post code was in Cloverdale - a single family home in a new subdivision. It came out as 11 - Pets and PCs. Again, not too far off but Cloverdale was (then at least) much whiter than the category suggests.

Not too far off, I guess... Not sure I like being called middle aged, but the truth hurts, I suppose

I got "Young Digerati" aswell.

I would say that that describes pretty much no one in my neighbourhood. More retired people than anything.

Definately true of Yonge & Eglinton and King West postal codes.
