Well UR has been temporarily banned, but the worst one for me at the mo is a family member. (By marriage).
I don't think I ever met someone this fricken annoying in the UK, theres nothing wrong with having an opinion - irrespective of how clever / dumb it might sound to others - evryone has a right to say what they feel.
But this one person doesn't have views / opinions they, 'state' that what they think is the way it is - full stop - no arguing. In these situations the English sense of humour comes in beautifully - I can't make direct comments and cause a family feud (much as I would love to sometimes - not cause of feud but just tell her straight out).
I have a great example
Over the last few years this person has taken great pleasure in telling everyone LOUDLY, that she had a friend who had a baby that (and I quote)
"STUNK - this baby stunk - it was absolutely everything to do with the fact that this woman bleached her hair during pregnancy".
o'h's sis is a hairdresser and she replied "well I wouldn't say that that would have been the cause and there hasn't been conclusive proof that it harms the baby in any way as far as i'm aware"
The reply from know it all was "well you don't know what you're talking about, it's obvious this was the case"
Then lo and behold last year the person in question dyed her hair black and then got pregnant. And because the situation fitted that she needed her hair bleaching out she had a COMPLETE 180 and then TOLD everyone that it was absolutely fine to bleach her hair. course everyone just rolled their eyes but when baby was born I couldn't help but go up to it and smell it and comment that there was a bit of an odour in the air. I got shot a dagger glance as the rest of the family stifled sniggers.

They can come from anywhere, one of the worst I know is English, and another who died recently, (a Canadian) is currrently telling ghosts how to haunt houses.

Well, the mods obviously know best but getting banned for "stupid" comments is a bit draconian. Offensive, abusive or insulting comments I can understand... but "stupid"?? I'm sure we've all made stupid comments at one time or another. Mods, can you reconsider?
