There was a series of threads a year or so ago on (even for the Maple Leaf) some more than usually inane topics. A couple of people got annoyed at the "cluttering up" of the board with what they saw as pointless chatter, and the phrase "dull housewives" was used to describe the leading contributors to those threads. I don't actually know if any of them were housewives, and most were no duller than anyone else hereabouts.
ISTR FlirtyKnickers was one, Dollface another, Miss Clinique as well I think, and no doubt there were one or two more. Dollface left the forum in a huff (though not, as it happens, over anything that took place in the Canada section). Miss Clinique's account is closed, too. FK hasn't posted for months.

Reason I bring it up is I shall be back in Blighty from the 19th Dec to Jan 4th so would require something before or after.

Who ever said that high culture had no purpose? Even though I learned German at school, I only knew Fledermaus means Bat because of Johann Strauss II's operetta.
And our Bats has a serial history of name-changing, leaving the forum for a while (dare one even say flouncing?) and then coming slinking back in under a new nom-de-plume.
