The PCs will win, the NDP will pick up a few seats in Edmonton and Wildrose will pick up a few seats in Calgary. I also think Danielle Smith will lose in Okotoks.

All the govt. workers in Edmonton are too scared to vote for Wildrose and the PCs have too much money. It's pretty clear the Wildrose strategy is to focus their resources on Calgary.

You seem to have your finger on the pulse to a greater extent than I do. Why do you believe she will lose in Okotoks? Who is the incumbent; is s/he running this time?

Well she's moved there recently and the PC candidate is from there and I saw a lot more lawn signs for the PCs when I was there earlier this month. No doubt Wildrose has blanketed the area since but there seems to be more genuine support for the PCs than Wildrose. Neither of them are incumbent though.

How many robocalls have you been getting? I've gotten a lot from the PCs.

I haven't had a single one yet. I've had plenty of knocks at the door though. The current MLA is vacating, so the others are very keen.

It doesn't really matter democracy has failed the elected members do not represent the electorate they represent the corporate sponsors of their respective parties I believe its called capitalism. Ever asked yourself why the countries natural resources are being exported off to the states in its raw state at a minimal tax rate. Why do we not have a ring road or comprehensive LRT system in Calgary???? Where's the high speed rail link between Calgary & Edmonton? The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, you want to look into the future for Canada look stateside.
Democracy is a dream not reality name one country where it works.

You appear to be happy to take it lying down.

Well, we can't all be on the front line counting lawn signs and keeping count of robo calls that really gets it done politically.
It takes a movement to get things done an awakening of the people to overcome the bull that is pedaled as in the best interest of constituents by the political parties and the bias point of view the media represents as truth.

Will the movement lobby for all those in the GTA area to stop voting for the Liberals
Actually I dont think the GTA residents know which party to vote for as they have had NDP, PC and Liberal Govts who they keep kicking in out in out.
Its like watching a version of the hokey cokey.
Politics eh gotta love it.

Indeed, we need to stop the rich forever filtering the money upward, we need fair taxation, open books & accountability of elected officials, disclosure before election of funding of these parties, rather than broadcasting celebrity whatever lets have some educational programming on political issues, hold the media accountable for bias on news stories, lets start holding political parties feet to the fire on issues where they have or continue to fail to deliver. Lets stop the hand outs to big corporations and banks at 0% pay it back when you can model. We need to stop these parasites who provide nothing but take the most for example can someone tell me what oil speculators provide that we could not do without?????

A very informative post with some good points but have you any spare whatever it is you are smoking or taking
This has been talked about for years and what has changed? Not much.
Have you seen the latest floundering by the PCs on the F35 planes.
Transparency are you kidding me asking MPs to reveal all receipts on what they spend taxpayers dollars on.
What are the true costs in the Ontario e health bungle or the Ornge Air Ambulance fiasco also in Ontario or what was the actual cost of the Gun Registry fiasco?
Shareholders accepting less profits or dividends or CEOs accepting less bonuses while making workers redundant.
Keep up the good fight we are all behind you.

Well that is more to do with the oil industry I think personally, the midwest is oversupplied and there isn't really an incentive to do the upgrading here.

Why do we not have a ring road or comprehensive LRT system in Calgary????
That one is to do with city council, but yes Ralph Klein underinvested in infrastructure.

Where's the high speed rail link between Calgary & Edmonton?
That is a boondoggle in waiting. More relevantly, when is the QE2 going to made into a proper highway with overpasses, proper all-weather road surface etc. like the 400 series highways in Ontario? I find it ridiculous you can go to Montana and there are exits with overpasses for things like Bob's farm or whatever and you can be on the QE2 and there is a turn lane across a major highway to exit to Olds or Leduc.

The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer
Because of the flat tax, imo. The question I kept waiting for the Liberals/NDP to ask was why is the Premier of Alberta the highest paid premier in Canada, but we have the lowest minimum wage in Canada with the exception of Yukon?

Hmm...

Not that I'm a leftie, in fact I never vote by party, I have this rather old-fashioned concept that I should talk to the candidates and vote for the best qualified.

But really the PCs are taking the piss and have been for a long time.

What is the lack of incentive? Surely not the tax breaks you appear to oppose

I don't disagree. But, if the polls are to be believed, the electorate doesn't want change.
