I suppose you thought I'd enjoy it for the local characters, which I suppose to a blend of Hoorah Henrys, University of Husband Seeking undergrads, and grubby men in plaid with unironic John Deere caps.

My chefyest meal(s) ever eaten were made by Brian Turner and Anthony W -T...needless to say I was a contestant on Ready Steady Cook ( a very long time ago......)
Food was amazing but maybe that was helped by the copious amounts of red wine I drank in the Green Room before recording the show

For me it was Le Manoir au Quatre Saisons in Oxfordshire, owned by Raymond Blanc. I also ate in some fancy French place near the Champs Elysee but I can't recall the name of that. Some other places too but only Ray's place had a named chef.
I know a fair few of you move in more ehem, exalted circles. So tell all and make me jealous.

I used to run one of the hotels and restaurants owned by the Holkahm Estate in Norfolk. Our head chef who we shared with The Victoria would cook for The Queen when she visited the Estate and was a Sous chef at the Savoy.
Super nice guy not a poncy tw@t (but with a temper to be feared ) so my chefyest meal would be anything cooked by him - learned a lot too though none of it sunk in

Chefyest restaurant would be El Bulli. Bizarre, wonderful, unlike anything else anywhere ever.
Most reliable chefy restaurant would be Ramsay on Royal Hospital Road
Best recent meal is Jean-Georges in NYC. Set lunch $29. Astounding value and cooking.
Still finding way around Toronto, is there anywhere that delivers food worthy of 2 or 3 michelin stars?
