I am so glad we have finally found the house.
I hated the feeling of viewing houses, knowing that if we wanted it, you pretty much had to write the offer on the kitchen table before you left.....
We felt so rushed, we actually wrote the offer in our truck.......
But never mind, it's all done and dusted, just want to move in now...patients not one of my strong points!!!!

We have finally got a house............
It came on the market last Monday afternoon.....viewed it on Tuesday morning and by 2.30pm on Tuesday they had already had two offers - ours was accepted !!!!
Arranged our mortgage with RBC.... got 5.2% fixed for 5 years
Had our inspection on Sunday....boy he was thorough...he even wanted to know what plants were under the snow!!!! he really knew his stuff, it took 3.5 hours and he grilled the owners about everything.
We were very pleased when he told us they had looked after the property and it had been finished to a high standard.....what a relief.
So last night the two conditions were removed and we have gone 'SOLD'..... we get the keys 15th March.
So we are off to Sherwood Park , and it's all R2D2 fault
We are off to see the children's new school today, I am so nervous, the school they are in is great and they are doing so well. I do feel very guilty making them move...but what can we do, the house prices in this area are so expensive!
We love Sherwood Park, it has a great feel to it, and everyone tells us it's a wonderful place to raise a family.
We have a wonderful realtor, she is a very genuine person, and we really trust her. She has always been just a call away. Very easy to deal with.
So if anyone wants her name please PM me.........and I am more than happy to recommend her.

Thanks - I've been living in a horrible old log cabin for the past year, its so bad I cried so much during the summer (as the water gushed into the basement every time it rained hard and every day coming home from work to the nasty damp smell). No heating upstairs in the bedrooms - brrrrr. There are so many gaps between the logs I think that I'm responsible for the mild winter so far!! I'm keeping the town warm!
My new place is fab - needs a bit of work done in the spring (new shingles, gutters, etc), but that's half the fun of moving. I'm sooo looking forward to buying paint and getting mucky! It's over twice the size of where I am now so I'm gonna rattle round inside.
And the best thing about it ... it's all mine!! No whinging husband getting under my feet anymore!! Hurrah!! I can furnish/decorate, etc how I want it!
So roll on 3rd Feb!!!
(Sorry to hijack your thread Linda P - good luck for March 15th!)

We had a call yesterday 8.10am to tell us that our container had arrived in Edmonton and could we go straight to the customs office to claim it.....
err....NO, hubby's in work and I have kid's to take to and from school (early finish on a Thursday)
oh well.....we have a bit of a problem then, it actually arrived two days ago and they hadn't informed anyone, so they want to charge $175 per day until it's cleared!!!!!
He then went on to explain he could argue for the previous two days, but not for the next few days until we claimed it, as we are expected to go pretty much straight away.
I had to get hubby out of work (not easy for nurses) and we rushed to the office.
Wow I was impressed with how easy it was once we got there....asked us few questions...such as did we clean the tent pegs and were the kid's scooters motorised (they should be so lucky) and that was it!!!! off we go thank you very much!!!!!
They also queeried the fact that hubby's work permit runs out April and his new one has not arrived yet, but, we had our letter from his employer stating he had been given a two year extension, so it wasn't a problem.
We were then told that to store our container until we move into the new house (15th March) it was going to cost $890, so I am having it delivered here and we will have to sit on boxes for two months
So I am now moving from room to room making as much space as poss....there will be no crevice left unfilled come Monday!!!!
It will be so worth it in the end (I have to keep telling myself this
)
