Meh, Blondin did it (over a slightly narrower portion) 150 years ago. At least Blondin had the nerve to do it several times, without any safety harness, and blindfolded, carrying his manager on his back, sitting down and cooking a meal half way across and various other crossing methods. All that other guy did was walk straight across. The length across the falls themselves was history making, but nothing else about it was special.
