Working a burlesque show tomorrow.

Tomorrow night getting steaming at the neighbours for her birthday.

Maybe a day on the sauce at home on the sabbath with an enormous lump of cow and my gigantic Yorkshire puds.

Happy days:)

For those of you who care, the skies are once again safe. I have just landed.

+1. Just home from breakfast shift. On call for tonight. 5.30 am start tomorrow, then 1st night shift at new second temp/P-T job.

In between, moving-in/sorting/finding space for Daughter (& her stuff) who has just abandoned school ....

I'm guiltily hoping I get called in to work tonight ;-)

That happened and, quite honestly, I spent more time watching what they had for breakfast, than eating mine.

I was non-stop working my entire shift last night which has never happened...But the afternoon shift made so many errors that needed to be corrected so it was very time consuming, so what normally takes me 40 minutes to complete, took me nearly 3 hours.

I barely had time to finish everything before the end of my shift, didn't even have a chance to eat.....

I wish we were staffed appropriately for the busy days, we never have more then 1 person per shift no matter how busy it is, and sometimes its simply more then 1 person can handle. (not my shift, but the day shifts, they really needed 2 people on)

:-(

My 1st shift at new/additional job was postponed, for which I'm grateful. I did get called in last night to my current gig. Mainly to run interference between staff & a truly obnoxious but important client.

Problem I have at work here is over staffing in some areas, & gross understaffing in others:-(

I spent a ridiculous amount of time today tracing & sorting an initially very minor error, which could have been easily fixed at the time (if it had been reported), but left to run, stuffed up my day :-(, & kept me 2 hours later at work than it should have.

<rant mode> If you make a mistake, & try to fix it, & the fix doesn't work/makes it worse, TELL me!! Leave me a note!! Or something!! DON'T just "fudge it" & hope it will go away! :-( I'm going to be Irate squared if you don't :-( </rant mode>

*My* "weekend" starts tomorrow at 5pm :-)!

Out for a meal with OH and a Canadian couple we have made friends with on Friday, yesterday bit of shopping with OH and then relaxing. Out today with my sister, niece, nephew and OH hiking in North van and then honey donuts at deep cove. Not sure what we will do for family day tomorrow

The hotel industry is notoriously cheap when it comes to staffing, and haven't worked in a hotel yet that staffed appropriately, probably why most hotels have such a high turn over. I worked in one a large upscale chain, and front desk went through people like there was no tomorrow. I worked there 10 months and when I left, nobody that was still there working was there when I started.

Airline industry wasn't much better, the company itself at the airline I worked for said min ramp staffing for say an A320 was 4 ramp agents, but they only ever scheduled 2 on a gate, one inside, and one outside sending bags up.

The entire airline worked on min. staffing, including flight attendants, we never had more then what the FAA minimum was, which at the time competitors usually added 1 extra to provide better service to the passengers, but most I think have gone to the min. required to cut costs.

At arrival and departure we would borrow someone from another gate to bring in the plane since it was mandatory to have 3 for arrival and departure.
