Not at all Nik. I just wish it had been available when I was either in the Skilled Worker queue or sending off all those CVs.

I'm certainly jealous that NB doesn't seem to have anything like the flexible approach that NS has.

Perhaps I misunderstood your comment, agree it would be great if all provinces were able to offer a more flexible route,

I looked at the NB version just after my SW app went in back in 05 but it required a job offer. The only other route was Business Entrepreneur requiring substantial investment etc etc.

How did you establish the 'long established connections in the specific community which provided the Letter of Identification ' without having long standing property in NS and such ?

Actually, on a similar point you raised ( mistakenly I can confirm ) I remember when I first joined the forum someone said I didn't deserve get in because I only had around 67 points and he thought it should have been at least 75 or 80. That's bollox, you get in any way you can and good luck to you - no I'm just interested in the options and how it is done.

Hi, no probs,

Its the community identified stream which is specific to NS as a stream within their provincial nominee programme.

Sorry, just noticed your edit, as has been discussed on here a lot, it all depends on the RDA as to what is required and their interpretation of the rules/criteria. I believe that our RDA focused more on the aspect of how we were going to provide an economic contribution to the region ( via the fact that we are both fully intending to work when we arrive, this perhaps varies from other people who use this route who are perhaps looking to retire or be self employed in some capacity, I think in these instances you have to show a lot more than we had to in respect of specific community ties. We have made lots of contacts, via our recce and in the months leading up to our recce, although for other RDA's this may not have been enough.

I accept we have been fortunate, I believe they are starting to tighten up a little on the community ties, but as you say you have to look at your situation and do the best with the options available. We had decided that NS was the place we want to be and this was an option which gave us flexibility around employment and time to sort our affairs out here in the UK before leaving etc.

We too only had 67 points................... I was told directly by a CHC rep at a seminar that whether you have 67 or 87 points, your application is looked upon the same

Of course it doesn't YCD you are quite right. It was someone's opinion on here that I somehow didn't deserve to come in without a degree etc etc adding up to much higher points. It was at the time of the huge queue and he felt raising the points to that level would both alleviate it and 'get rid of the chaff'.

I'm here, 'nuff said.
