VPN - UK Television Viewing
Hi one and all,
I have recently relocated from London to Vancouver and of course am missing a few things about home as would be expected... one of which being UK television. Is anybody able to provide me with guidance in regard to "VPN", how to access it, how to use it, basically, "how to"? Canadian TV, is, well, an "acquired taste" I would say, especially in comparison to UK TV, and so your guidance would be greatly appreciated! |

Funny, when I moved to the US I didn't miss UK TV one bit, but now I have the reverse issue back in the UK lol

How are you thinking of watching? Presumably not 'live' in view of the time difference unless live events like 6N, or just the news. There are sites where you just click on the channel and watch. Like TV CatchUp There are plenty of VPNs, most are paid options but one or two free ones that do the job admirably. Some people have it set up to watch directly on TV or just watch via computer, with the ability to just transfer/play back onto the TV. Different gadgets needed for different things. So your answers will depend on your preferences, but threads worth a look are: http://britishexpats.com/forum/maple...2016-a-881281/ http://britishexpats.com/forum/canad...nd-vpn-899428/ http://britishexpats.com/forum/canad...bc-itv-875177/ http://britishexpats.com/forum/maple...s-tips-894832/ http://britishexpats.com/forum/maple...stions-894821/ http://britishexpats.com/forum/maple...tv-box-881384/ Any threads to do with TV, Roku, Smart TV, Kodi, VPN, Apple TV, Chromecast etc will have lots of crossover information. There is no "best way" with everyone having their preferred or acceptable ways. |

I use this in BC, costs around $12 CAD a month and you get 7 day catch up TV with all UK channels, no need for VPN or any other "hide me" software. I have to watch via laptop as currently the android app doesn't work for TV and no Roku app but think that's all coming eventually. I can cast direct to TV from laptop though so no need for any cable connections between the two. |
