Likewise I'm using NordVPN, also went for the three year discounted subscription, can't fault it.

I see there is a requirement to be nominated by an existing member and that you must be a UK resident with a valid TV licence. I take it that is just to cover themselves legally? Any details much appreciated.

I believe that's a recent disclaimer thing - I didn't have to sign that when I registered. It had a different owner with a different 'company' name originally, I suspect the new owner has done this is to cover their backs in the event of any investigation. I don't have any further details I'm afraid. I could nominate you, if you would like me to (I don't gain anything, just for info) - just send me a pm.

Beebs works via Chrome and Opera browsers.
Is it still working? I haven't been able to get BBC iPlayer for a while, other channels are good. I seem to be getting the same IPs over.

I used Hoxx successfully for iPlayer some time in August, some times it worked first time, other times it needed about three goes but it did connect. Some time at the end of the month I tried about ten times twice and switched to Beebs on Opera.

It's not the first time it's happened and it's usually returned to effectiveness. Some sort of maintenance going on right now, maybe that will make it work again.

Do any of these solutions work for viewing BBC iplayer through Apple TV and other devices or just from the PC/Mac which has the service installed on ?

Overplay works well for me as well although I pay a little extra so I have access to their worldwide VPN network as well.

I use a different company for VPN (Private Internet Access) as it was recommended as they do not maintain logs.

Overplay generally works well and when there is a problem, usually within 30 mins they have a solution. They have said the Beeb are actively hunting down the IP addresses used by these companies so issues have increased lately but as I said above, it usually gets sorted.

Was just wondering with all these recommendations, do you have to stream to your main computer or do they handle various devices without a lot of ^&%$$# about.

I run a HDMI cable from the computer to the TV, and use a wireless keyboard. Works well. Previously I used a DLNA server "Mezzmo". The HDMI cable is preferable IMO, if it is possible. My computer is located in a room adjacent to the TV,

Unfortunately that's not possible with my set up with the iMac upstairs in my office.

I will stick with Overplay DNS hider for now

With Overplay you can set the overplay DNS server details into your main router so all devices on that router can watch BBC without having to set up each device. This might then work with TV via wifi but as we don't have a TV I can't say with 100% certainty

Yes I know this, this is how I am using Overplay.

I was asking about other service providers not Overplay. I am fully aware of how Overplay works, having been a user for a couple of years.

It was because of issues with BBC recently I was asking for alternatives.
