Hello Everyone,

Does anyone live on Vancouver Island?

We are considering relocation there and would appreciate any feedback on the following, crime, schooling and the general way of life there.

We are looking at the Nanoose area, as it is quiet but not to far away from Nanaimo, does anyone live there?

Thanks for your help.

Hi I live in the Cowichan valley. Have you read the information on this thread?

We did a trip around Nanoose yesterday as we are house hunting at the moment. Nice area especially if you like golf and sailing. Plenty of properties for sale and seemed like 'Sue Forest' was main realtor in the area. Not sure who she works for but lots with Coast Realty, Royal le Page and Re Max, so if you google those you would get an ideal of prices and what the area looks like. There is a lovely marina there and also beautiful views. Also found an area called Beachcomber Reg Park so you might be able to google that as well. Cedar is another nice area but depends what you are looking for. We are looking at acreage either to build on or with a property.
Anyway good luck with your trip and PM if any questions as we are in Nanaimo also.

We have been looking around Marina Drive, Dorcas point and Madrona and are intending to construct a property also. I was sat on the rocky beach at Cottam Point at the end of Marina Drive early one morning, it was around 6.00am it was to beautiful for words. I know a great builder in Nainimo, he's called Duncan and his company is called Bamco Homes. His work is fantastic and he really knows his stuff, worth a call!!

I think they're supposed to be on a leash. In Nanaimo it's supposed to be no dogs on public beaches between May & September (I see dogs on the beach a lot though) ~ But Lantzville & Nanoose have different bylaws :o
