Vancouver Island

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone live on Vancouver Island?

We are considering relocation there and would appreciate any feedback on the following, crime, schooling and the general way of life there.

We are looking at the Nanoose area, as it is quiet but not to far away from Nanaimo, does anyone live there?

Thanks for your help.

Ok Ok I am the author of my own misfortune...

Sorry if I have offended anyone, its not in my nature.

A quote, free kebab for the person who guesses who wrote it.

"Better to be silent and remain a fool than to speak and remove all doubt"

My money is on the Aviator..

If the cap fits!

Not had so much entertainment on this site in a long time. Every now and then a complete pillock comes along to liven things up, and in so few posts!

Hi, I live in Nanaimo & haven't read through your other posts!!

I would imagine the most crime in Nanoose would come from bored kids or lunatic golfers on Fairwinds flinging their balls around. If you have high school age kids they would have to travel a bit to get to school as there's only an Elementary there.
www.sd69.bc.ca is the school district website & Ballenas would probably be the high school although I worked in a high school in the north end of Nanaimo this year & we had some students from Nanoose.

Nobody said that, not least because it doesn't make sense the way you've misquoted it. What Abraham Lincoln is purported to have said is "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt" - although it doesn't appear in any of his speeches or written papers. It's also been attributed to Mark Twain, Samuel Johnson, Socrates and Confucious, among others. The origin probably owes something to Proverbs 17:28 "Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding."

Extra chili sauce on my kebab please.

Bloody hell OP you seem to spread yourself around alot. Ithink you've created more threads than me and that's saying something. You can find out most of this simple stuff for yourself on Wiki or maybe even google.

Its the real deal.. wings and everything. It does have a stick shaker though, this activates near the stall along with an audible warning "Pull Up-Pull Up".
Open to interpretation I know...

Because we all need to cover the "basics" before we type questions. Everyone on this forum everyone has asked a silly simple question we could have found on the Wiki from time to time.

Just try looking at it, before you post yet another thread.

If you really want to know, and think this will contribute I to the forum I will tell you. However, I would not like to be accused of drifting.

Which part of my 15 years in aviation do you want me to start with...18 through to 41 this will include a selection of non stick shaking a/c and a selection complete with the bells and whistles, and the odd fire axe.

It could well make a difference to how you are regarded around this forum. Right now I would say that if the negative reputation feature was enabled, you would be loosing a lot of points...
