US Election Debate

Re: US Election Debate
Hardly a lesser evil, just a different one. Rather like Obama vs Romney; both will continue to bankrupt America, but will funnel the money to a different set of friends as they do so.

Only if you overlook the war, Bush lying to his people about WMD so he could go after Saddam Hussein because he'd tried to kill George Bush Sr. In the end stealing the election cost over one million people their lives, and it's not over yet.

Of course Bush lied, but that's what politicians do.

I don't think Gore would have done it. Prof Frank Harvey did an analysis with the opposite conclusion, but didn't take into account Gore's upbringing or personality. Some of Gore's history in which he appears hawklike is decieving because his motive was to effect the largest gain for peace, (ie:his service in Vietnam to aid his father's anti-war cause). While it's largely true that if he'd been rightfully installed as president he would have had to face the same events as Bush, to think that he would misinterpret UN resolution 1441 as a hunting license to declare war on Iraq even though the head weapons inspector, Hans Blix declared that his teams had found no weapons of mass destruction is a real reach. Unlike Harvey, I believe Bush knew the intelligence re: the weapons was flawed before he acted. Being censured by the United Nations for attacking a soverign state without sanction is the legacy GW Bush gave to the US.

The US election is boring without Sarah Palin. Se'd have the best president ever. By best I mean funniest.

Re: US Election Debate
Romney stood there and lied to his teeth over and over again. If there is any intelligence among the American electorate they will see through him and vote Obama (yes I know) (not that I'm a fan of Obama but he is far and away the lesser of the two evils)
Obama is also no slouch and I think over the forth coming debates he will shred Romney over his proposed polices, his tax returns and his exploits as a vulture capitalist. That's all before mentioning his secret film of him branding 47% of Americans as dependent on the Government.
A quick look around the political fact checker websites will tell you all you need to know about Romney.

I've read that up to 20% of American voters believe Obama is a Muslim, and I find that really hard to fathom. Is that possible? Not him being Muslim, that many people being that ignorant. I was scared, at first, of him being a Baptist, but now that he's up against a Mormon that's ok.
