I haven't spent a dollar on Nevada tickets since the bars closed almost a month ago. Come to think of it, neither have I spent a dollar in a bar.

Fantastic. Just remember, when changing positions, thoroughly wash your items with soap and hot water. The quick wipe on the pillow won't suffice these days.

Criminals should be having a harder time blending in with the crowd.

Nothing arrives in the mailbox anymore; it was all junk and now there are no adverts for things one wouldn't buy from shops one wouldn't enter.

Well VPD did report an increase in arrests for break and enter, so maybe there is some truth to that. ha ha

Positives for me/us.
1. Being a little bit forced to stay in one spot for a bit!! I am a CONSTANT world wanderer and find it hard to live in the moment. This is really making me understand it's ok to put roots down and in fact it's a good thing. Doesn't mean it is forever and I still have plans for the future that MAY not include where I am currently living, but am staying put for longer than expected. Also to enjoy where I am and not thinking/planning/booking stuff in the future. It's a gorgeous part of the world and I perhaps couldn't see it as well as my eyes were facing the wrong way.

2. Having more time with my child as they started school this year. Although I'm happy for them to attend school of course for many reasons, it felt like it crept up a bit too soon and I really enjoy my day time with her again. We're still learning at home and I do know she needs more 'kid' time but it is lovely to have every day with her.

3. Not spending as much on food shopping! This is a real eye opener. I thought I was quite a good crafty shopper, deals, offers etc. but looking back I did go to the supermarket too much. We don't waste food but now we only go when we absolutely must and only buy what we need for about five days.

4. Buying more directly from farmers. We had made the move to this when we moved to this part of the world but now with more markets closing and our tendency to only shop at supermarkets when we absolutely must, we were happy to hear many more farmers opening gate sales. We have found more farmers who we weren't aware of before and the produce is so fresh and delicious. Supporting local farms feels great too.

5. Listening to more music. Now I'm at home more I'm seeking out recent releases/different genres from my 'same ol, same ol'. Enjoying dancing around with my wee one as part of fun exercise.

6. Zooming with pals from all over the world. We always talked about doing something like this but now it's a regular Sunday night with a wine (for me, it's early for them!) event. Really love hearing from them and always laugh.

Probably more but that's mine for now!

!

I love seeing more of our son...he's 19 and we had become a bit like ships passing in the night...although I will be happy when something frees up so he can have a bit more fun!

The spending thing is amazing! In Europe I had got used to buying vegetables, bread and meat mostly daily, and I brought the habit with me to Canada, plus Fredericton is very small and I pass the Superstore twice daily...since C19 I go on Monday morning, we have a list and I buy a couple of 12 grain loaves and stick them in the fridge. When I visited daily I'd often buy a bit of what I fancied, now I'm buying a bit of what I need. It's been good for my pocket and my waist line!

Piece of cake. The difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is about two weeks.
