Only 5 cm of the stuff and they have had to close Gatwick Airport becuase of severe weather :eek:

Yep, we have quite a bit of snow here in Bucks, and still more coming down.
Took daughter to bus stop this morning at 7am, and the school phoned at 7.30 to say most Bucks schools are shut. So she came home....:lol:

She's ecstatic - a 'snow' day which co-incides with a French exam! Yey!:lol:

Fantastic isn't it? We have had about 3 inches where I am in the Cotswolds and it is still snowing. My daughter and I will be building a snowman later. :)

I'm in scotland just outside glasgow.... nothing..... just -1C this morning which is warmer than its been the last four mornings!!!!

I too am in Central Scotland and here 6" is normally counted as just a flurry! :p
I remember getting up one morning and there was a snowdrift where my car should have been. I dug it out, scraped it off and started it up, opened the bonnet to put screen wash in, only to find that the snow had swirled up and filled the whole engine compartment.
Still made it to my work on time! :sneaky:
@ 04:30am it's fun skidding around the parking lot! LMAO!:rofl:

I know, us southern softies are all wimps, but we don't get much snow....so we get all excited when it does come.....I do remember when we lived over on the Welsh border that we were snowed in (with 'real' snow for a weekend, without electricity. Was fun for the first 24 hours......:ohmy:

As usual, Cornwall has had bu**ar all, just the rain and hailstones. My kids were really peed off this morning when they saw on the news that up in Wales (where nanny and grampa are) they had 10cm. I had to give the old consolation line of "But, you see, when we're in Canada............". Does anyone else still in the UK use this line?

:D good afternoon to all.my daughter has just came home for lunch and is not happy that everyone ells has snow and we dont.did you see the photo on the news where the kids had built a very large snowman,the look on there little faces said it all.just wish we had the snow here.cant wait for canada to come off,(loads a snow):lol: :lol:

Trust me, the novelty of snow will wear off quickly once you move to Canada and get fed up shoveling it, or get salt stains on your clothes every time you get in (or even near) your car:sneaky:

Yeah i'm tired of it already.... LOL.... Friggin salt. Frozen salt. Black tar-coloured snow. Messy footprints all over the front entrance. Salt stains all over the car floor. Salt stains on my jacket from accidentally touching the car. I forgot my gloves. My fingers are going to fall off. Layer 1. Layer 2. Layer 3.. Jacket on. Jacket off. Boots on. Boots off.

Repeat until at least 15 March.

Hey... when we lived in essex.... i was using when we move to scotland.... now i am just starting with... when we move to canada... but i think the kids might be too old by that point and it will only be me that goes nuts for snow...

We are averaging temps down at around -15 to -22 just now, with wind chill its about -20ish to -30ish, you lot are only gettin pussy termperatures in the UK !!!!!

A few pickes of what we had recently, the temp -19 was taken inside my car a few days ago and the snowy ones was when we had 3 foot in one night !!

So be warned all of those heading this way, bring yer winter woollies

:p pussies nah.we in the uk are not pussies,we just like it when it does snow.the thing is,washing machines work wonders.it washes out salt stains and the likes:D the snow may be thick and us lot still in the uk are ready to take it full on (just like you,before you moved over to canada)me ,well its the icy cold winds and rain together I will moan about.snow I love it.so long as I dont have to try and push a wheelchair in the stuff.kinda gets stuck.:lol: :lol:

It is snowing again here in the Cotswolds - not proper big snow flake snow but still exciting. (Can't remember the last time it snowed two days running in the UK.)

When growing up in Blairgowrie NE Scotland, we used to have at least a monnth of Snow on the ground in the winter, the local loch was used for curling etc, and most local villages had outdoor curling rinks. So we should not forget that prior to Global warming and only a few years ago it did used to get pretty severe in Winter. In fact the coldest recorded temp in Scotland is -25 at Braemar.

I recall some smart aleck driving his car on ice at our local loch, oh thats right it was my elder brother. I always wondered how he would explain loosing it too my mother if the ice craked :confused:
