Thanks for all of your replies.
He is about to start VI form college, AS level law, economics, politics and history. May get to do A levels or may not depending when we finally get processed.
Have a high school place lined up if we move in the next 12 months, after that he may well stay here with in-laws to finish A levels before he joins us.

As for the bumper stickers, my car has a Harley Davidson one and no matter HOW well he does I have no plans on changing it...

Congratulations to your son!

Which school does he go to in Colchester? My Daughter goes to the Gilberd and takes her GCSEs there next year.

Ooh, I need one of those. Got a spare? Bung one in the post, will you?

Congrats to OP's son, by the way - well done to him - most respectable

Would highly recommend he does A levels in Uk before coming, rather than moving him during, ( It may be hard for you to be without him) I tried that and initially it was a disaster, nearly lost my daughter back to the Uk for good. All has ended well with daughter just starting Uni, but she did not finish High School here. She went back twice to Uk to be with family, so upset by the system here. She was in a mess being moved. It was just not comparable to Uk. The high school here was so behind the level she was at in UK. It is really hard for them to be thrown into a new school and meet new friends, on top of leaving old ones. She ended up without A levels and without finishing formal high school, but to make a long story short still managed to get into College.... A day at one point I never thought I would see. They do not recognize anything but A levels from UK, you cannot get anywhere (usually) without a Canadian High School diploma. If he is bright he may just not like High School here.
In the end it is just my opinion, and I am sure other teenagers get on just fine, but it is a difficult decision to take.
GOOD LUCK
