I installed it and yes, although the GUI I find a bit clunky, it is quite impressive. Which repositories do you guys find best?

Definitely get the yify.tv one - Best movie streaming one out there just now

The best repo's and only ones I use are

xunitytalk & fusion (any probs let me know)

Add ons I use are

1channel - pick the movie or tv show and it'll likely be on there
BBC iPlayer
ITV Player
Mashup - similar to 1channel but also live TV & sports streams
TVGuide Dixie - brings all the live streams onto one screen with an EPG

If you find the GUI a little clunky try a different skin as that can make a big difference. I've just got a basic/simple clean one and is pretty smooth

Oh OK. I normally get my downloads from this. Nice one.

Already using Fusion but I'll try xunitytalk too.

Thanks for the heads up on the skin too. I just don't like the open scrolling I guess. I find it cumbersome.

Ok well with some perseverance i managed to install fusion then 1 channel and i player also. But the i player doesn't work it says script broken and i notice that 4od is on the list of ad ons but says "broken"
Now i am not using anything special as far as trying to hide my ip address other than media hint which works good for i player normally when viewed direct.
Is there something more i should be trying

A proper VPN I'd have thought. MediaHint is only a FF/Chrome browser plugin.

Ah ! I understand now what you mean by repositories  I just got around to putting XBMC on the boxee box last night - what a pain in the arse that turned out to be ( I missed a space on the boxee redirection code when installing the +Hack , took me hours to figure it out ).xunitytalk and fusion are the repositories I used . I couldn't find mashup but it was getting late by the time I looked for it and was starting to get a bit bad tempered with it all

Still having problems with 1channel and Icefilms - Can manipulate around the sites but when I try and play a movie or tv show from them - I get the "remote server cannot connect error" .

Will have another screw around with it later but can see me getting rid of the boxee and either going for another Roku 3 or an Ouya

Animal.....

Is your Ouya here yet? If so, can you do a detailed review and how to once you get it up and running please?

Screenshots too will be nice if you don't mind

Ouya kasha...aw right ;)

For iPlayer to work, you'll need a VPN / Smart DNS service - which is why you are getting the script error. The one I've been using for ages with no probs is in my signature - can I do that or am I breaking the site rules ???

4od is broken and doesn't work on XBMC but most of the things you'll be able to pick up on 1channel not long after they've shown.

ExpatTV is another good add on for streaming live UK channels - I think it may even work if you don't have a Smart DNS service.

How did you get on after your rest from it :) I've never set up a boxee so not much help on that side but when XBMC is on, it's the same on any platform so may be able to help there.
Do you get the error on all the links for the movies ?

I'm holding off at the moment as a guy from work has just purchased a Ouya and it's expected later on this week - he's not very technically minded so I'm expecting him to bring it in for me to set up and if he does, I'll let you know.

I have a friend who has a Apple TV2 and said if I buy him a version 3 I can have his 2 so the refurb unit from Apple.ca is on it's way for $85 :)
I may jailbreak it and sell it for $250+ and then buy the Ouya anyway.

Never tried getting to the bottom of the connecting error yet - It was only 1channel and Icefilms I was getting the not connecting error - It was playing youtube and Ipodcasts no problem so its obviously connecting to the internet ok

I did have another quick look for mashup at lunchtime and still couldn't find it with the fusion repository but I just had a quick tinker with it - will look at that in more detail later tonight as well

Sorry - I just had a look and I have Mashup installed through xunity but after a quick google it now has it's own repo !

Instructions are HERE

It's a nice add on and likely one of my top 3.

I've heard the same but I'd recommend anybody that is streaming the majority of their TV (or all of it like I am) to hard wire any box to the router rather than over wifi - especially if streaming HD content.

If your router is some way away from your PC/Laptop/set top box or whatever then a simple solution is

POWERLINE

I actually have one of these on my AppleTV box and my sons gaming computer and they work great.

Also, further on in the same reviews you posted, another guy goes on to say

I had the WIFI connection issue that others have mentioned. The forums at Ouya recommended restarting my WIFI router, and sure enough, the Ouya was able to connect right away after that. As a tech guy, I don't understand why that step was necessary, much less why that even worked, but it did, so that's hard to argue with.

Thanks - explains why I couldn't find it through fusion then :)

Mashup on and working nicely - just got to figure out why 1channel and icefilms don't want to play the game :)

1channel working well now - just played a Cam copy of the lego movie :)
