You won't find a VCR with a SCART connection, SCART is a european connector. You'll most likely have to use a component connection instead (green, red and blue connectors) but should end up with the same result.

I got my tv to work through a set top box with a scart to red/white/yelloe cable convertor.

Thanks, I dont have a set top box though
Il get the vcr and try that.
Never knew about the scart thing not being used here.

Hello
SCART is European but as he has a European TV the TV has SCARTs. It is usually easy to get a cable with a SCART plug on one ends and Phone plugs on the other end (usually Yellow, white, Red e.g. video, left and right sound).

An HD LCD will almost certainly have component inputs so why bother with SCART at all? Just use the component output of a VCR (or DVD player, or PS3 or whatever) straight into the component input on the TV.
Also, I'd recommend getting a proper digibox and getting the Shaw digital channels, much better quality picture (although the programmes are still rubbish ). You quite often see them 2nd hand on craigslist/kijijijijijiji or they are only $100 or so brand new from Shaw.

I have one of these in a box somewhere..

The shaw box sounds a idea And you are correct the tv is
pretty crap sometimes wonder why im bothering
