From: A Briton, married to a Canadian, now in Fredericton.

My son, who's 15, said, "load of shit"....but that appears to be a sort of daily comment
However my husband had heard of them...I'm a bit in the Shnooks club, in that an outpouring of grief makes me feel dodgy (never understood the Diana thing) but...I'm trying to understand the culture and climate here and I do find it interesting, but am not enfranchised! It will no doubt go nuclear when the poor chap kicks the bucket...

I'd never heard of them till they showed a clip of the guy with the toss-pot hat shouting a lot on the news this weekend. They seem insufferable to the point where even if I thought they were any good (I don't) I still wouldn't like them.

Trudeau was a big winner.

Any songs to recommend ? I've never quite understood the appeal of this band.
Good write up on them by the Beeb: Tragically Hip: The most Canadian band in the world - BBC News

But the band itself is very bland, nothing to latch on to or that stands out, they just ramble on. Bobcaygeon is a nice song, and for me the only song worth listening too, maybe its becauase i havent grown up with their songs, like my Canadian friends have.
