Touchscreen Laptop-To buy or not to buy?

Re: Touchscreen Laptop-To buy or not to buy?
I want one
Thats what i'm gonna do for now... I think once summer comes round I may get around to getting one when I have more time on my hands to make some money and sell more things. Plus by that time the school laptop will have been sorted and I won't have a need for the crappy laptop I have, which I will sell...
You don't 'need' a touchscreen, you want one.
If you have two laptops (one a decent one for gaming etc.,), could get another laptop through school and own an ipad mini, considering buying another laptop just for the touchscreen is pure indulgence. Save the money and put it towards your travels!

Who cares? I bought/am buying them with my money. I don't play sport, do travel hockey, or do much else that normal kids my age do. Technology and traveling are my hobbies. (Both expensive ones ) And the school one is because I need it for school, due to complications I prefer not to discuss on a public forum that make my handwriting illegible. So not "unnecessary".

I have an iPad Mini. Cheap and fantastic device for browsing/watching content. Not sure a touch screen PC is much use yet as most apps are for mobile devices with touch screens. You'd have a feature/functionality that is almost useless at this point. Maybe in a year or two.

Surface Pro. Use it as a kiddy tonka toy ipad type thing for messing about and when you need to do some work click on desktop and do grown up things with proper software.

I just bought a Dell inspiron with w8 and touchscreen. It is my first ever laptop. So far so good.
