It made her angry to take down her support for Liberal MP Carolyn Bennett in St. Paul’s but she told the Star Friday she’s scared.

“I had to. I can’t risk being afraid for my family,” Mills said. “In Canada you shouldn’t have to worry about lawn signs for a political party and it makes me furious.

“I attribute this to Stephen Harper’s attack ads that make people think this kind of behaviour is acceptable.”"

What utter nonsense. How can you attribute the actions of vandals to an entire political party, no matter the politics (if any) of the individuals concerned?

It was more than signs that were defaced. This was vandalism of cars etc.

There were no signs defaced, but 16 cars associated with signs were vandalized.

I went a-googling for reference to election poster damage. There are too many to post. It's rife I tell you, rife. All over the place, all sorts at it. Standards are falling I tell you.

It's not just Toronto. Even in supposedly sleepy Burlington, we've had political signs vandalized and stolen.

I'm not going to make accusations without evidence, but it's only Liberal and NDP signs that were attacked.
