And I did...twice.

A great night...good to meet up with old friends...and meet new ones who happen to live in the next building. It was good to meet Magnum and his missus.

We look forward to the next one.

Ended up in the local pub till 2am on Friday then was up yesterday at 10:30am for the Winter Craft Beer Festival ending up in the local till 2am again.

Hurting like a Mofo today!

It was a grande session on Friday and nice to have some new faces and to meet a forum legend.

I am still the king of appending fruit to the side of a beer despite Magnumpi's best efforts.

Till next time!

In the pub it is important that I am viewed as a man of cultural sophistication and repertoire. I am a southerner after all #FruitOut :p

So long since I was there, how much has changed. Getting one's fruit out was not always a sign of cultural sophistication and repertoire.

Exactly, I tried telling him this ;)

Agreed, it was a lovely evening, we both enjoyed ourselves, and great to see some of the new faces out too!

Next one will probably be in April-May ish, and looking like it'll be an Oakville gathering this time! ;) Watch for a thread nearer the time!

I have been thinking about this, can you think of a decent place close to the GO station? I am struggling.

The Queens Head was suggested. It's not walking distance, since nothing is walking distance (unless you want to party it up at the Swiss Chalet across the street), but it's a short cab ride.

Alternatively, is there anything close to the Bronte station? I don't know that area well.

The other option is to go to one of the restaurants around Clarkson, there are more options there - Indian, Italian, and a Turtle Jacks that are a short walk away. That might be a bit easier and still the same vicinity.

tsk, tsk. It's the Hibachi place where all the cool cats party near the GO :D

Always wondered about the Queens Head as well.

As for Bronte GO. Hmm, nothing within short walking distance (Tin Cup is Third Line and North Service road, no idea if it's any good or not)

Tin Cup is very good, been there a few times, but it's the same issue as The Queens Head.

If we want to hit walking distance then I suspect Clarkson will be the way to go, else if a short cab is an option, then either The Tin Cup pr The Queens Head is my vote.

There's an English pub on the lakeshore in Clarkson, the Black Horse, I haven't been in there for 25 years but it was horrible then. hth.

The Clarkson Pump would be a better bet.

I've been there more recently, a mere 20 years ago. It could work except everyone would need to eat elsewhere first.
