The vestigial Pompey fan in me can't bring myself to agree . Wise has been a sucessful manager considering, but a yorkshire friend of mine is pretty sure that Leeds sucess of late was largely to do with Poyet anyway, and that is largely borne out by results since he left for Spurs.

What I dont get is if you want a Footie person on the board, then why not bring Keegan himself onboard, or offer it to Shearer?

And why the need for the others?

Shearer was an iconic player for the Toon, but he's got zero qualifications as a manager and coach. If they want to use him they should tell him to put the frighteners on the so-called strikers on the team.

The scary thing is the Keegan is on record as recently as last october saying that a continental management structure never worked out well for anyone...and now he says hes fine with it.
