Who else would use such a dopey acronym? We just say the Premier League or the Premiership, it stands to reason we don' t need to qualify it by mentioning the country its played in as we are English. It sort of like Chinese people going out for a meal, they're not going to go "lets go and get some Chinese" are they?

Gobby Karen Brady and the Porno brothers have made that Bingo Club a laughing stock. And, as if renting in a half-full athletics stadium in the championship for the next ten seasons will change that.

Yeah I noticed they were calling it BPL on Rogers. Very disrespectful to the SPL.......

Anyway if Liverpool get their way the Premier League is only going to last one more TV agreement.

Or Ice Hockey

Although when we lived in Vancouver we had a Japanese kid staying with us for 3 weeks - he spent the whole time going to Japanese restaurants.

I'm sorry, but this thread has stayed on track for more than 3 years, likely a first in the history of BE. The mention of Iced Hockey is inappropriate, utterly uncalled for and grounds for immediate banishment to the expatcanucks forum on usenet.

You'd find much to chat about over there.

Can't complain about the result to day. The lads did well to come from behind twice against very decent side.

Still unbeaten, still in fourth place.

It's all downhill from here.

All in all probably a fair result although we were rather naive in the last 20 mins and should have held on for the win.

They've some good players up there at Newcastle. Tiote, Coloccini and Guteirrez really put themselves about. I'm not convinced Shola Ameobi would do that with a football again.......

The worry is Ledley King. When we finished 4th in 2010 we got a reasonable percentage of league games out of him. I was hoping for similar this term.....

We really need Gallas back now. I'm not a big fan of Dawson, Bassong or Kaboul- they all seem to need that more experienced head next to them.

Don't forget Steven Taylor ,who's playing as well as he ever has (and that's very well). Cabaye is a revelation while Ba has been scoring at a goal a start now that Ramadan is over and he can have a pie on matchdays again. Then there's Hatem Ben Arfa who might be the best of the lot (possibly).

I agree though that Ameobi isn't quite up to the premiership in a starting role.

This is prolly a classic hex but Wigan in Toon, Blackburn & Stoke away followed by Everton at home is all looking doable.

Then of course three weeks with visits to both Manchester clubs and then Chelsea at home will be a very different challenge.

I'm not daft enough to expect much from those games.

There is also the impact those fixtures could potentially have on the confidence of the squad going into the games after.

Craig Forest think's Newcastle are good for the top half. I think so too.

Pardew has done a resonable job despite the controversial circumstances that he entered the position.
