It's rumoured that Steve Bruce is so determined to make up for the 5-1 drubbing by Newcastle earlier this season, that, once the Bent deal is finalised, he's going to make a £20m+ offer for Carroll.

Is it so rumoured? The very idea is so laughable as to be unworthy of serious contemplation.

Make it 45 million.
