Problem down here is four throbbing hangovers and a collective inability to remember what any of us imbibed last night. Self afflicted pits, but pits nonetheless. |
Re: Tonight
I've tried to avoid at all costs linking to newspaper articles, because these two on the Daily Mail website TODAY are proof that you can take anything to fit in with their views.
If you were to believe that the whole country has gone to the dogs as Yogi and I have been saying, this headline is right up your street:- Boozy Britain However, if you were to talk Christmasoopa's and Flouderwatsits viewpoint that the country remains rosey and a lovely place to live, you will like this story:- Trusting Shopkeeper Of course there is some good left in the country, there are a lot of good people on here (and a few not so good :p ), we work in and out of hospitals and we see on a daily basis some truly selfless people, I honestly believe that there is a lot of good people and many of them do happen to live in the UK ;)! Yet on the other hand, we have experienced first hand the not so great side of Britain or a segment of Britain. The newspapers could have focussed on all the revellers that had a great time and didn't get pissed off their faces or maybe they couldn't maybe it did happen as has been reported. I can only speak of what happened here - at 7pm we had a firework thrown at our back window which landed under the trampoline - I had not long since called the kids in from there and consider us lucky that they were in (I was letting them burn off some excess energy after they had been fueled by cherryade and donuts as a new years treat). What happened the rest of the night I don't know because I took the kids to my mums and we went round to friends. We sat there until almost 2am until we felt it "safe" to return home. At 4am I was woken up by yelling outside again and in the middle of the main road was a kid lying flat on his back. I am sure though that others experienced nothing of the sort and that they had nice little get togethers with lots of friendly people singing auld lang syne in the streets and playing happy neighbours. |
Re: Tonight
Having said all the above, now this is one headline worth reading:
Offenders face public vote on punishments It is the lead story on tomorrows Guardian. I love it, it was made for me!!   |

Make them give back to the area that they took, oop's sorry must be correct here.....they wont allow this in the uk, but then a guy who runs over a kid and never stops get 8 weeks in jail for doing it, the guy who was should i say alittle slow who took the teddy from the memorial area (and he only did this as he thought the teddy was getting too wet (bless)) got 18mths.... If they do the crime, they do there time, well they should do............... i drive out of town and see the guys in there orange suits, in all weathers as well, but then we have clean streets and they are putting back for there crime :thumbsup: Now don't get me on prisons, WOW maybe not put back to the public, but wouldnt tinytears like 10mins one on one, instead of them target'g her KIDS :curse: |

You should have dealt with the owner, even reporting him. Unfortunately for the dog, he had an irresponsible owner. |

Toddlers - have no access to the space where it was. Hedghogs - are non exsistant there. Birds - well they wisely choose to eat from the bird house provided by me, with fresh bread and the like every morning ;) |

Why do you need to resort to juvenile deliberate mispelling? Was it supposed to annoy or upset me? BTW I don't recall if you said it was just you, or your neighbours are having the same problem? Why do you get sooooo angry so easily? Maybe you should try a course of "Anger Management" or something?? Take last night, I merely said: " I knew a Jewish guy who was a real nice bloke." You retaliate with some ridiculous statement like "How do we know he was nice? Why are you saying he's nice? etc etc..." I have to say, with your sarcastic manner, arrogant attitude, combined with your continual anger at posters. It's no wonder the local thugs smashed your windows! With that, I resign from this post as you just feel the need to row constantly with posters, heaven forbid they should disagree with your point of view. You are just incapable of having debate without getting angry or lowering the tone to sarcasm! Pathetic really! |

Do you need another shovel yet? Not really no. Maybe you should engage your brain before your mouth, and see the situation before judging! My Goodness! Where do you people come from - laughable really! Hmmm, all things considered. I'd say it's you that needs the shovel ;) |

I see no problem with sarcasm as it sometimes is effective and gets the point across. Alas some people are so dense they fail to recognise it. The comment that is it no wonder local thugs broke her windows might have been intended to be sarcastic or funny but to me it comes across as being mean spirited. And this business of the Jewish guy being really nice well how is it relevant? If he were really nasty would you have told us that too? Does it really matter? I suppose the point you were attempting to make was that this person lost relatives in the holocaust. |

Re: Tonight
Nice!! What a lovely bunch of people some of you are.
I am so glad that what has been a hideous time for my family, friends and I, has been turned into such a source of vileness and hillarity for you all on here. Whilst you may think it is so very funny and something to take the absolute piss out of, let me remind you that my kids have been scared shitless these past few weeks, my friends have had two black bins full of rubbish thrown at their car, and dented - all because they chose to come and visit us in this hell hole, we had a firework thrown at the trampoline the kids had only just finished playing on, we have had plant pots thrown against our front window and our for sale sign kicked, thumped and then what was remaining torn into shreds - never mind the filth these animals have left for us to deal with each day, their empty cans and bottles shrewn all over our property and the graffiti they did all over every wall on the estate. And now you ask that I take some sort of "Victor Meldrew" test for your amusement. Cheers! I didn't think my opinion of some of my fellow human beings could get much lower but ... |

BTW, I just got a bilingual indoor/outdoor weather station this afternoon at The Source. The outside bit shows F, but the base translates this automatically into metric. Amazing what machines can do these days. I just thought you'd like to know. |
