Tim Horton's mustard... wtf was that?

My cousin's holiday was ruined by the trauma she received when she bit into one of these ham and swiss sandwiches.
Can you imagine the scene? A retired primary school teacher from Northumberland innocently orders a simple sandwich for her lunch. She bites into it, and, well I was there and the expression on her face was fearsome.
The sandwich was dissected then the smeared piece of bread was discarded and the ham was wiped. There was tutting and exclamations such as "well", "they never mentioned mustard", "is that what this is?".
It was a difficult moment. Then she tried the redrose tea.....

I can thoroughly understand that.

Hogwarts, the wizard's school that HP was at. Alnwick Castle was used as a location for some of the school scenes. Back in the late 1960s, Alnwick Castle was used as a Hall of Residence for the local teacher training college. See??
These things lose their moment when you have to explain it all. (sighs)

Other (rather more frequent) scenes were filmed at Christ Church, Oxon. A place where I, as well, suffered the depravities of mad tutors in my youth.
Alnwick Castle, on the other hand, is more my style, since my great-grandfather was Head Gardener there about 120 years ago.
Indeed, the bit of the place recently used as a teachers training college, was once his house.
It's a bit different of course in Sunderland.

Don't they though? Although perhaps I can add to your lexicon of HP trivia.

You won't have been to the new Alnwick Gardens I imagine. They are very lovely but I prefer the old sweeping gardens to the new.
See you do now about HP, you're not faking boffin-ness are you?

Without scrolling through all the replies, isnt it actually honey & mustard dressing, rather than mustard?

So my cousin could have lived in your great-grandfather's house?? I thought she lived in one of the towers inside the castle, not one of the houses. I have some photos of Alnwick that include what looks like the gardener's house, taken this spring. Does this interest you?

What a lovely thing to do. After I retired in July 2006, my DH & 2 grandsons spent a lot of time exploring Northumbria & Co Durham. It was wonderful but, possibly, melancholic, because we knew we were leaving for Canada. I keep reading about the rotten Summers that England has had for the past 3 years but all I remember for 2006 & 2007 is hot sunny days!!!

She said, "Mustard with that?"
Now, since I habitually like mustard (Dijon) on a ham sandwich, with or without swiss, I concurred.
Do you think I have a basis for a misrepresentation suit here?
