I remember that feeling when I drove across the Rockies last year

I'll add my three memorable moments in a few weeks when I'm settled in my new (rented) home

None of mine have any particular relevance to having been in Canada but, here you go:
- driving under the bed of a speeding tractor-trailer, watching the rear wheels of the trailer come through the passenger door and across the passenger seat as if in slow motion, realizing that the truck had stopped and I was not dead.
- hearing "I'm not going to give a diagnosis of autism as that's a death sentence, but that's what this is".
- watching someone attempt suicide before me, not believing it was actually going to happen.
By way of Cancon:
- horse riding in snow up to the stirrups
- fishing out someone who'd fallen overboard in April, knowing that the toxicity of the lake water was a bigger concern than hypothermia
- walking out nervously on to a frozen river, wondering how far to push it, seeing an F series bowling along the river towards me.

Feeling of contentment at wedding dinner - although technically I hadn't moved here yet as I had to return to England, finish work and sell the house before coming back to join my wife and step kids.
Buying the house and listening to her excitement in telling her parents about the new home when they met us at the airport after our house buying trip.
Moving to the new house, step son taking a look around it and then coming to hug me.

Me
1. Sitting watching a large and gorgeous grizzly in a meadow in front of us at Peter Lougheed Park, while we were all whispering and manically trying to get the best photo - Oi! out the way, my turn ...
2. Whitewater rafting last summer in Idaho, looking at the wildlife above us in the trees and beside us on the river banks (and swearing under my breath that I hadn't brought the camera!)
3. Driving in the back end of beyond (well, near Red Deer anyway
) in the dark, with contact lenses that were not up to scratch so I couldn't read road signs till I was right up on them (!) and desperately trying to locate my husband on some random campus because he was badly injured, and then hitting and running down a deer that ran out in front of me, all the while telling children in the back of the car "oh, nothing, just a bump in the road darling". Stressed
Hubby
1. Jumping off Mount 7 at Golden (3,800 ft) last weekend - with a paraglider strapped to my back, I hasten to add.
2. Going through training school and listening to "Scouting for Girls" on the way home, to save my sanity when feeling like crap! (especially The Airplane Song and I need a Holiday).
3. Listening to Daughter Number One sing in a school production. She had a microphone booming out across a silent hall, and we were dumbstruck at how brilliant she was. Seriously good, not just bragging parents!

1. My first and probably very wisely my last skiing experience, unless I get up the gumption to fall down a mountain again this Winter.
2. Niagara Falls in the Winter, amazing.
3. Is going to happen in September when my parents visit, for what will more than likely be their only visit, three weeks that I am really looking forward to.

On the equine theme, riding along with ("following") a fox hunt, was memorable and had specifically Canadian themes; casual cruelty to animals, killing of wildlife for fun, snobbery about money rather than class. No guns or clubs involved but otherwise it was rural Canada in microcosm. I've no need to do it again.

Just of the top of my head and in no particlular order
1) sailing a brigantine round the island in winds so strong we were almost dipping the rail. just as memorable were the blistered hands and sore arms the day afterwards
2) dinner at the top of the CN tower on a very dark and clear night , thinking " oh my god I actually live here" ( Toronto , not the tower
)
3) Hearing Ben on the radio doing his first solo flight.
I'm hoping to add soon
The first time I go up as a passenger with Ben flying the plane
Seriously though , I still love living here and smile evrytime I see the CN tower as I leave for work and I can still sit for hours watching the lake , the airport and the sky
