"This morning, at the Edmonton International Aiport, it reached -46 C. At 5:00 am, there was a windchill of -59 C.
This temperature reading at the time of the reading, was the COLDEST place on earth. (Coldest of any recording station). At least this is according to the Weather Network."
....Don't know how accurate this statement is - found it on an Edmonton forum? - but still, why let facts get in the way of a good story.

I think the poster was mistaken. That report says that -46 was the "coldest" temperature (of the day, not in the whole wide world!)

....Hey, I read it on the internet - it must be true right! Anyhow, that's what's going on my Christmas cards this year "Greetings from Edmonton - coldest place on earth!"

It's only cold if you're outside

...not so much now. Just out with the dog chasing urbunnies up and down the river valley for a few minutes and it's now a spring like -30 with no windchill to speak of.

Ha! It's warming up again .... welcome Chinook!!!!

I was throwing on clothes to go out this morning (overslept) when I asked hubby what the temp was ..... "15" he said.

"Oh I won't need all these clothes then!" says I, peeling stuff off. "Rose" he exclaims, horrified; "It's MINUS FIFTEEN out there!"

"Yes but it's not minus THIRTY-ONE like it was yesterday!" was my reply, as I take off the odd layer .....

Have I been here too long already?

On my drive home tonight it was up to -1 .... BALMY!

I met a lady yesterday who walked six blocks home on Sunday with no hat ... she was in our department with frost-bite to her ears! And another guy walked 15 minutes with wet feet having broken though some ice while walking his dog. He'll be lucky not to lose the tips of his toes.

You really can't fool with this stuff!
