LOL yes this is a common perception in North America. "British people have bad teeth" I'm even guilty of taking a jab at a few Brit friends over this. Truth be known... mine aren’t pristine white myself. That said, I've seen some nasty British chompers, but take heart! While (in rash generalization) you all may not have the prettiest smiles, when you do smile, it is at least genuine. I'm afraid we Canadians often wear fake smiles, (heaven forbid we ever appear rattled, offended, or impolite 
) So if you’re going to brandish a fake smile a lot, may as well whiten it up!
