Never had much luck with naan from the supermarket until we found this. Its pretty good. Although you might have to get it at an Indian supermarket.

Indian Food

Yeah, the naan's we have aren't the best. On occasion we go to the save-on-foods just over in mission and they have a big south asian section. Maybe I'll look in there to see if they have that brand (last time we went I stocked up on lime pickle, but we are nearly out of it now because I keep using it in cheese sandwiches).

We shop at this shop. Sabzi Mandi Ltd. but I think they have other locations.

Some sort of unidentified dried out meat and oversalted, boiled-to-death vegetables, for a change. :(

Tonight I'm having turkey fried rice. I'm adapting my recipe for chicken fried rice - it's a bit of a radical change, so I hope it works out.

I'm debating whether to have a piece of a rather pleasant Stilton, some spicy salami, prosciutto and pickled onions or order in curry.

Ungrateful sod. Do you know how hard the poor taxpayers have to work to keep you fed while you're playing cops & robbers?

I'll be round at 6. Don't make the custard too runny. :)

This evening I had smoked wild salmon, boeuff bourginon and a cheese platter. In a restaurant in Norway. It was good, but eating out in Norway makes Canada seem cheap. Even for cheese.

Saturday night a roast turkey dinner. Sunday lunch turkey sandwiches. Sunday evening roast turkey leftovers. Monday lunch turkey sandwiches. Monday evening roast turkey leftovers. Tuesday lunch turkey sandwiches. Tuesday evening turkey stir-fry. Wednesday lunch - let's see - ah, yes, turkey sandwiches.

I am beginning to get just an incy wincy bit tired of turkey.

Don't tell me you're one of those who insist on calling shepherd's pie made with mince beef, cottage pie?

I thought Canadian-style shepherd's pie/cottage pie was to put sweetcorn in it.

I do half minced lamb and half minced beef, onions, peas and chopped carrots in the meat. Mash made with yellow potatoes and warm milk and butter in the mix and top off with grated cheddar cheese on top.

Cinnamon in the apple and crumble with rolled oats in the topping. Very thick custard piping hot!! totally lush:rofl:

That's impossible! :D

Turkey should be eaten at Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and that is about it. I bit of a naff meat in my opinion, but does offer the plus side of feeding you for a week afterward.

I enjoy the Canadians realizing that two turkey meals within 2 months was a little bit extreme, and moved their thanksgiving a bit earlier to compensate for possible overload of turkey. :)

I don't mean to divert the attention from the OP's original subject but it occurred to me that since I've been living here nobody's invited me and HID over for our tea? We don't smell or anything. I try the best to make friends but this seems a bit stand-offish. Anyone else not been asked over for their tea?

I've never been asked over for tea either. The neighbours do invite us round for tea and biscuits in the morning after the dog walk, but it's not the same as being invited for tea.

Pop over to mine. Bring teabags and biscuits for afterwards.

We are having lasagne and a salad... Because I am working this evening, it is one that I made a while back and froze (the lasagne not the salad!). Eldest daughter will put it on the oven to cook and make the salad.

We were going to have slow cooker chicken stuff, however it does help if you make sure someone else hasn't unplugged the slow cooker when you turn it on as your leaving the house in the morning:frown: Not quite sure what to do with it now:confused:

Its either a Indian, Chinese or Earls. My vote is the Indian as I like to pop into Earls on late on Wednesday afternoons to partake in their cheap beer and chicken wings.

Edited to note: We ended up getting Nando's Portuguese-Mozambican Chicken. It was not bad.

Not had that in a while now. We had sockeye; I fried it and we ate it with some veggies. The salmon here is rather good isn't it?
