Tattoos ......................
Who's got one - some? Where are they and what are they of?
How old were you when you got inked and do you regret it? Would you get another?

I find the tattoos disgusting.
Lots of people have them in Toronto. Often ill thought out and will look even more terrible over time as their skin changes.
If you get one make sure it's in a place where you can cover it up.

Re: Tattoos ......................
cool Amy.
I have a really crappy old one on my top right arm thats faded (its only tiny 1" x 1") and am contemplating going in today to get it covered with something more appropriate.
If a) I decide to do do it when i'm in town and b) I can somehow get this pigging virus off my laptop that won't let it do anything other than safe mode, i'll post a pic.
Ooooh a new slag tag at the ripe old age of 41 - awesoooooome

Blank canvas here - and I intend to keep it that way.
A guy on my team at work had a snake tattoo on his forearm (that's arm) when he was 17 and has regretted it since. So he's recently done 20 or so treatments to have it removed (and more to go). $4000 to remove a $75 tattoo.

Re: Tattoos ......................
I used to class tattoos as disfigurement by choice, however I have grown up a bit and realise some have specific meanings and some are really beautiful, so understand why some people like them.
It makes me sad to see so many youngsters with truly awful tattoos that they got just because everyone else has got them, there are a lot of pointless ones around, but because there are so many it doesn't notice as much if you know what I mean. We got quite a few comments this summer from our English visitors about the amount of people with tattoos here, as I say we don't really notice anymore unless it's a really ugly one or one that is going to be regretful in later life. There is a really pretty girl in town and she has one of those lucky cat things tattooed on her chest - the tattoo goes right up to her neck, makes it difficult to cover up for work situations I would imagine.
I will remain a blank canvas, but mainly because I'm too chicken to have something permanent.

Re: Tattoos ......................
I used to frown upon tattoos, till I googled "Scarification"
While out walking the dog one day, I happened to look at a scar I have on my hand, and wondered if there were any freaks out there that would choose to scar themselves on purpose, in the name of art.
Unfortunately I was right.
Do not google this if you are at all squeemish.

My daughters friend has a piercing on her back at the bottom of her neck / top of her spine sounds wierd but it looks wicked - seeing as I have a 5 o clock appointment for my new ink today (woohoo!!!) I might enquire as to how much one of those will cost (there is a big possibility that i'll totally chicken out of that seeing as it would likely involve a big needle and i'm a wuss )
Bleurgggh edit - just googled nape piercings - and all the horror stories - um no thanks!!!!!

Re: Tattoos ......................
I have a tattoo of a maple leaf (see attached). It's near the top of my left thigh, so it's very discreet, and it's only small. I got it done in Vancouver in August 2004, while here on a working holiday. It symbolized my determination to get PR and move here

Why do girls get girly tattoos like flowers or butterflies? They obviously have tem to attract guys attention so why wouldn't they have ones of lorries, tanks or footballs?
