Sorry Gents, I'm with M. Hollande on this topic, and applaud the French resolve. It's also worth remembering that la France did not even enter the Iraq War, and yet such "conscientious" foreign policy did not spare her terrorist attacks.

You can't go through life walking on egg shells. I admire the French attitude towards certain things.

None the less I don't think air strikes are an effective tool in the short term.

I get, in the long run, that if we bomb the country flat at some point we'll need Western Contractors to rebuild it but other than that it is a proven flawed and disastrous strategy in my opinion.

Because for years he has been making very serious valid points about corruption, fraud, and lack of democracy irrespective of what you might think of his immigration/EU views.

If you didn't like a politician who was a black woman would you feel it OK to criticise her appearance as your first point?

I think actually you are the one who maybe has a problem? You were the one who brought up appearance as reason to not listen to the message of a politician and has mentioned being black and female might effect whether or not a person might be more or less interesting.

I objected to you using appearance as a reason to object to someone's political message and as a side point point had a little dig (not really aimed at you) at political correctness where sometimes its acceptable to make derogatory statements to/about middle aged white men that you couldn't make about most of the rest of the population even if the statements are true.
