Yes. It is that time of year where us Canadian's make plans to watch the spectacle laid on by our southern cousins.

Last year I went to a pub got drunk, won $120 on a game of squares. Went to several more pubs and was particularly blurry eyed the next day only surviving work for several hours.

This year I'm at a friends place eating chilli and trying to avoid alcohol.

I put it to you, joe public, how will you be spending your Super Bowl Sunday?

Having a bit of shindig at my place. Sending HID out shopping and then having some septics round for the afternoon. At least they bring decent booze not that pigswill Canadians pass off as beer or whiskey. A local Indian restaurant is going to deliver a nice selection from their appetizers menu. Their tandoori chicken wings are especially good.

Where's the option to say "nah, can't stand it but it doesn't matter because I have to bloody work" ?

(That would be my pick).

Camposat/Filmon in their various guises still seem to have BBC/ITV free.

Make sure they understand that anything left in the fridge is yours when they leave and don't let them in unless they bring more than enough.

I'm not inviting any canukleheads. Yanks are okay, they're not cheap so they tend to bring a nice selection of microbrews and posh spirits and they always leave what's left. All I did was order the food.

Bollocks to that. It's also the opening weekend of the Six Nations Championship. France-Italy and Scotland-England on Saturday, Ireland-Wales on Sunday. Proper rugby :p

BBC streams for the Saturday games, ITV for Sunday's. Unless anybody knows if the RTE player works with MediaHint? I've never tried it, but in case the BBC or ITV feeds flake out it'd be good to have a backup.

$20 would get you into the beach club for the day, start with a full English and go on the lash. Not so convenient if you live on the wrong side of Yonge.

I think I'd be hiding behind the sofa for SCO-ENG today so I'm pulling the hockey dad excuse.

Spent the last two days setting up for it at work for the high rollers :-

3 x 16:9 screens with projectors
4 x 80" LCD's
4 x 42" LCD's
2 x 42" LCD's

and a preview monitor for me at front of house.

Full PA, decor and other like boring stuff.

I may take next year off to watch it with friends and drink beer.

Search the couch for bones this time. I am this very minute multi-tasking and baking some salt and pepper calamari sticks from Giant Tiger, then making curried chicken for supper. I decided I didn't need salty snacks or chicken wings, and have tons of options. I haven't watched more than 15 minutes of continuous NFL all year but looking forward to a good game.

Given the sizes of the bottles of Stoli and JD that two early birds have brought, I think this could get messy. Maybe I'll stick some sausages rolls in the oven as the food is not going to arrive until 3:30. :(

Sounds like a plan otherwise drinking on empty stomachs might end up messy
If you are lucky then you might be asleep by the time the game starts
