If you want freaky, try the Chateau Montebello. It's a hotel and supposedly the world's largest log structure.

It's not far from us and we went for a snoop a couple of weeks ago when my SIL was over from the UK. She wanted to see it. After 20 minutes inside the place, we all felt decidely uneasy and concerned for our jugulars.

Discovery Village. I spent a lot of timing looking for it till I realised it was about 100 acres of bush, rotting trees, stagnant pools, and abandoned cars. Still haven't discovered any houses but hoping.

I'm really concerned at the lack of imagination of BC developers. What the hell.

I have also marveled at the many small business names that people come up with over here. We seem to be swamped with service companies and construction/renovation "specialists" so i guess the name helps sell.

Construction company favourites are:

A little to the left
Plan B

There is also a guy called Fred who owns a local excavating company and his company name is Fredex.

Jeez i even saw a baby "sleep consultant" van running around town today.

This thread is hilarious!

I can't think of any locally... I actually like a lot of the development names here. I'll keep my eyes open.

Not in Canada, but an area where I live - 'Water-ma-Trout'. Bloody hilarious.

At work we call this the forever growing subdivision, our trucks go in every week and each time it seems that more houses and roads have been constructed, lucky our trucks have radios, it's a bit like the Bermuda Triangle. I seem to remember hearing that another 3000 houses are being built there.

Possibly named after the Glen Abbey United Church, or the Glen Abbey Golf Course. I'm unsure as to how long the area has been named that, as in, wether it pre-dates either of those.
