Really? Are you just reserving your condemnation for the victims? That's all you have to comment on is it? Their gullibilty, or stupidity as you call it.

We don't know do we? Are you saying it's their fault? Whatever the method used to persuade the women into complying i see no reason to mock them. Stupidity isn't a crime, sexual assault is.

It doesn't say that he targeted vulnerable women so yes i am querying their intelligence as to letting a strange man into their propery. I didn't say that what happened wasn't a crime.

Re: stupidity galore

Usually the maintenance men just say that they need to have water running, and maybe they need someting that uses more water like a shower... so "please turn on the shower while he's there" is not so unreasonable... it's the additional request to "please be naked and using the shower" that raises the flag. My first question would be "uh, why do I have to be *in* the shower? I'll just turn it on and leave it running while you do your inspection."

"No, you need to be physically IN the shower, otherwise this won't work. Also, my cousin is a Nigerian prince who has a great financial proposition for you..."

A friend of mine that is a plumber is often approached by amorous housewives when he is at work, he says it is a problem and not a one off incident you would expect it to be. I can't say he spouts bs, but he is quite Insistent that this happens regularly. We all invite people into our houses to do things, I think that the criminal element the OP quoted are not the only problem. Unless he is teaching an apprentice , he has to go to homes on his todsome and this makes him quite uncomfortable. All that said, no excuse for this criminal, he will be caught soon and he'll get his lot in prison.

Did you laugh at your naive clients when they lost money because they were too trusting/intimidated/stupid?

bats .. in that case it is not funny as many are victims of fraud

worse still is complaining about it to the authorities after it happened :o

Your compassion and understanding are boundless.

So handing over money as the result of fraud, being spun a plausible story, deserves sympathy but sexual assault makes you laugh? Oh and they shouldn't complain?

Way to go Mike.

sexual assault is no joke but the fact they were dumb enough to fall this is

this was by no means a plausible story -- unlike victims of fraud

would you fall for it? (the shower i mean)

So it's ok to sexually assault the gullible? And you're comfortable mocking them. There will be more to this story. The report says a woman called claiming to be from an "authority". That means power, power asserted over the women to get them to comply.

Many monetary frauds are not plausible stories to others but the person hearing them is convinced, motivated by greed often. You sympathise with the greedy gullible person and not the trusting gullible person.

Whether or not I would fall for it is irrelevant. Your stance implies it was their fault so tough luck, they got what they asked for. Hmm, short skirts, low tops, drunk, just asking for it.

He said sexual assault is not excusable .

As I said .. There may well be more to the story, however it was one of my friends I would be gutted that they had been attacked but would say straight out WTF were you thinking letting him in !

As would I, but I wouldn't mock them, or give more sympathy to financial fraud, or say it was "beyond comprehension" to report it, or call it "hilarious", as Mike does.

You stated earlier that you had no sympathy for the victims. Victims of sexual assault. You have made a joke of sexual assault by finding the story hilarious. Your first post.

No need to respond, you can hide behind 4 Bells.
