St Georges day
Well what should we do to celebrate St Georges day over here? I wore a jaunty green hat on St Paddys day 
(not Irish)
no doubt the pubs will have had the odd haggis for Burns night
(not Scottish) and I've eaten leeks for St Davids day (not Welsh either )
what to do to celebrate my own patron saint????
Do I enshrine my decks with the flag of saint George for my neighbours benefit, drink gallons of beer and sing Land of hope and Glory at the top of my lungs??
Or do I do what we normally do in England - close the doors and ignore it!!

Few here have a clue about St George's day and many probably think the English flag is the Red Cross flag.
One exception is Newfoundland where St. George's day is a paid provincial holiday for government employees.

Where we are, in Britain, it's generally considered the chav flag and marks out the places to be avoided!

There again if you want to be PC and sensitive to other cultures you might refrain from flying the St Georges flag as it tends to offend certain groups.
I tend not to celebrate it like most others.
