So that's where it went.

"Four inches of snow for Barrie on the weekend" said the security guard, gleefully, as I went by.

I suppose she doesn't live in Barrie.

More importantly. "Wind diminishing to light Saturday morning."

It's a strong el nino (or is it the other one?) this year, which means we are in for a really mild, but wet winter with bugger all snow apparently.

Still, can you imagine having snow from september till june like the rest of Canada? It must be terrible for those people.

It'd be alright if they had a nice pub with a roaring fire and great company to while away the freezing cold evenings but Tim Hortons probably doesn't have the same atmosphere.

It has just started hailing/touch of freezing rain. No snow so far.

Wow - it was such a beautiful day yesterday. I went on a bike ride, bought apples by the roadside and had a picnic by Lake Huron.

A touch of hyperbole, methinks.

The strange thing is that with last winter's record breaking snow here, we had almost none before the end of December.

Unlike a previous 'official' non white xmas where there was plenty of snow on the ground but still technically 'green' last year's green xmas really was devoid of snow on the ground.

The first dump didn't happen until just in time for new year.

Imagine the total if we'd had the usual pre-January amount.

I live half way up a mountain and haven't seen snow since last November where we got half an inch which barely saw the day out.

I actually like it when it when we get a big dump of snow. It looks nice and doesn't outstay its welcome - typically there's not much left after a week or so.

That’s alright for you rugged mountain types but its not so much fun for us city dwellers having to slip and slide in Cuban heals getting our afternoon bulimic lattes. :(

I'd heard of cuban heels, but never knew what they were. Now, having googled them, I can say that they look just as gay as I imagined them to be from their name.

It's so nice for Oct 16 we're just basking in it.

I put the a/c units away too early. It's a bit on the warm side, seriously not a sarcastic comment. It's cleaning day and it's really warm inside, 24 outside and 26 inside, a bit warmer then I am comfortable with.

As they'd say back in Northern Ireland..."gurn up". We've had that awful nonsense called summer. Time for some habitable weather.
