Sorel Snow Boots
#31
We'll have to disagree on that then. I have climbed in mountain regions all over the world. I have seen people wearing Sorel equipment all over the world. They may have turned their attention to posing in the pub types (like Helly Hanson), but that doesn't mean that they are not capable of manufacturing equipment that many rely upon when travelling in the mountains.

oh yes, that is why the sis moved there & not the interior
was suprisingly pleasant for meandering along the lakeshore, then in town each day (no car) with only a fleece jumper & then fleece jacket - must be that famous 'dry' cold.
The lack of a biting wind (compared to my slightly drafty pennines) was a blessing.

I just got these http://www.amazon.com/Keen-Womens-Sn.../dp/B0040MV4EA
comfiest boots i have ever owned! so far, haven't had enough snow to really put them to the test, but feet have been kept very warm and dry.

Just got a pair of winter boots last weekend from Canadian Tire on offer at $69 (about £42). Rated to -57 degrees, time will tell. The locals that I work with buy the same sort (Altra) and seem happy enough, most of our work is outdoors.

I recently bought a pair of these for winter. I'll leave those of you who live in the ice age with your fancy insulation
