Re: Some updates.
Sore knees are one downside to the job. I use knee pads but they can only do so much.
Still enjoying the job. Next year will look into going to school as long term I know I can keep this physical a job, aging body and all. |

awesome stuff. It's amazing the effect a good job that you enjoy can have on your mental health.

Great to hear! But not about the knees. Look after your knees. See if you can get ones with gel. Pricier but worth it as my husband found out!

I'll look into those. Amazing how knees become so sore. If only narrow body planes were large enough to stand inside the cargo hold.

Re: Some updates.
If only...lol
When airlines did not charge for checked baggage there would be more bags but people who check 2 lighter bags. Now people cram as much into one bag as possible. Narrow body planes are for the most part free loaded and its no easy task loading and unloading 150 plus bags. On just 1 flight today we had 215 bags off plus 500 pounds of cargo and 210 bags on the outbound. Widebody flights might get 400 or 500 bags but they use container loading so on the ramp its easy.

But isn't there something to be said for stability, which you seem to have right now? Especially what you went through - that test thing - to get it. |
Re: Some updates.
And constantly switching jobs looks really bad on a resume.... Makes you look unreliable.........
|
Re: Some updates.
I've changed a few times in the last year. Not because I'm unreliable but because I worked for two different psychos.
I started 3 months ago for another company and love it. I can mix working in the office with working at home so my work life balance is perfect!!! |

Re: Some updates.
Its not the job itself but the work environment. Its not a healthy work environment and I dont feel there is any room for advancement.
I have tried several times and overlooked with them promoting someone half my age and little to no experience. I just dont see any long term gain from staying and feel its better to find something that may have a prospect to lead to better pay vs wasting time at a job that may never lead to anything better. I am not quitting until I find something else however. And my knees are killing me. Some mornings I can hardly walk. I dont think my old body can do this long term...lol |
