Re: Some updates.
Didn't get into the borderline/DBT study, so no DBT for me. They can't say the reason why someone doesn't qualify so it shall remain a mystery.

Re: Some updates.
That sucks, man. I'm really sorry to hear that. Are you able to apply to another one, or are there others now that you're in the Vancouver area?
Don't let it get you down. |
Re: Some updates.
I am on their list for future studies they may have in the future. No idea if they will but never know.

Re: Some updates.
Finally all moved out of Chilliwack, thankfully we had an entire month to move, with all that happened March no way we would have been able to do it all on a single day.
Have to take a driving airport written test Monday, not prepared for it as well I haven't had a single day in over a month where I wasn't working, or commuting to/from Chilliwack moving things or going to visit hospital when wife was there, but I will spend tomorrow studying. If it were just a multiple choice test, I wouldn't be so worried, but it also included a map of the airport aprons/taxiway's etc that we have to memorize and achieve a perfect score on, miss 1 and you fail. I've never been good at memorizing things like this, so quite worried about it. Upside in May I go to evenings and mid-day so no more getting up at 2am..lol Wife is doing better, but still has a lot of ups and downs and would be nice if she could see a doctor sooner, but May 19 seems to be the earliest she can get in at the moment. |

Re: Some updates.
When I was trying to.learn the layout of my local airport (admittedly much smaller) I took an image from Google Earth. Printed it out and practiced labelling it.
|
Re: Some updates.
That is what I used for studying. A map layout.
I missed 2 so failed. I got the answers just the wrong box on the map. Need 100% to pass.

I can't work in operations as hubby is a manager there. So I think I have to stay where I am. There are lots of stairs so I'm hoping I'll lose some weight running up and down them. Although I confess that for the moment I walk up and down 😇 |
Re: Some updates.
Have the 2nd attempt at written driving test next week.
This test might be my downfall with the job. Doing my best but the test is difficult. Lol |
Re: Some updates.
you are going to do great, you know the answers, last time you got them right but just put them in the wrong box and that was despite the fact thyat you were a bit sleep deprived and hadn't had much time to study. Just imagine how good you are goignt o be with another week to go through it

Re: Some updates.
I'm with Zoe, absolutely worth making sure you have a good sleep, you got itall right last time save two that were reversed... so get rested, study as much as you can, and you'll ace it! :)

Re: Some updates.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) my 2nd attempt. The test is total of 3 separate tests. The map, a written test, and a practical although you only do the practical test if you pass the first 2. I think I have the map down, but the written test is tricky and most worrisome. If I don't pass, I have one more chance in a month.
Rumors the test has been made easier due to high fail rate, but I haven't been able to confirm that. Also got an update from BC Housing, and of course only a rough estimate, but they said to expect at minimum a 3 to 6 year wait for housing. |
Re: Some updates.
What kind of job is it JS? Have you got it yet?

To my mind you know all this stuff in your head, so try to empty your head of everything but this. Very hard . I shall be sending you my best strong vibes and support coz I think you are simply brill. If we were all close we would all be giving you a walk around the block, getting you to shake your arms and hands about , followed by a good brisk rub down with a damp newspaper ( with eyes closed of course) and telling you to breathe in and out sloooowly before sending you in. :fingerscrossed: You GO. Do your best. We're here. |
Re: Some updates.
All the very best J. We are all rooting for you.
|
Re: Some updates.
You can do it!
Just remember when your mind goes blank close your eyes and take some deep breaths in and out... just focus on your breathing for a few minutes. |
Re: Some updates.
Thanks.
I have been studying and reading the material the test is just not written in a way that works for me. Lol If they showed me a photo of say a runway hold lines and options to choose from I can identify them easily. But they use words only and I have major trouble visualizing it and the trick questions are well tricky. We shall see how I do in a few hours. |

Re: Some updates.
Passed the map. The map was changed as well, so the one I was studying wasn't the same as the one being used for the test, but I managed to pass it.
Did worse this time around on the written, got 73% last time, only got 60% this time, 88% is passing. |
Re: Some updates.
Well done on passing the map especially since they used a different map.
