Default Slow cookers

Never got one until recently, any ideas of what the hell I can do with it other than stew?

A notoriously lazy chef

Chilli

Didnt it come with a recipe book?

You can get those pre prepared frozen casserole packs that you just throw in and leave to cook if you are really lazy...

What's wintery about a slow cooker?

Use 'em in summer instead of the oven and you don't heat up an already hot house.

Nah, we have salad all summer - it does not have to be cooked.

Man cannot live on salad alone...gotta 'ave a cooked meal every now and then.

And not everyone is a barbecue nut.

Sir, merely openning the front and back doors does NOT qualify as air conditioning

I had one in the UK but hardly used it. Now in Canada, I'm a complete convert and use them all the time! Like you say, great for stews and casseroles. I also use it for soups, joints, cakes, rice pudding and even porridge on occasion. I bought myself a couple of cook books purely for slow cooking recipes and try out new things from there (got some nice curry and sweet & sour recipes). I've also tried out recipes off the Internet too.
