Default Sim card for UK but keep Canada number?

I am going over on a trip in may from canada to UK- want to take my cell but I am looking for a cheap SIM which will enable me to still get calls on my Canadian phone and a little bit of data any ideas? Thanks

If you've got a fairly recent phone you can just do an eSIM deal. I pay £10 a month for unlimited calls, texts and 60GB data with Smarty in the UK so you could do something like that.

There is probably an equivalent in Canada to take with you, but not sure you'll be able to receive calls on your number on it if it's a whole new SIM? So you may need an eSIM anyway to switch between the two, and the UK might be cheaper for the data side of things.

Do you mean get calls on your Canadian number while also using a local UK SIM? .... If so, you can only do that with a dual-SIM phone, or by flipping SIMs back and forth.
