The IF thread was closed as it was deemed to be taking the proverbial.

There was no need to start another thread on which to have the same discussions which have popped up on a couple of other threads this past week and are now in the Take it Outside forum.

:)

I didnt see the if thread that way, but there wasnt much to go on. Its not like Batty has a history of stiring the pot here.

Personally I never look in TIO, its dull and full of rabid loonies (more so than the maple leaf anyway), so how are we to know whats already going on?

And what if we dont want to play with those kids, but would rather stay in our own little clique?

The threads STARTED in here and were moved to TIO. Plenty of people on here do go there and know what is what.

Sure, if it gets out of hand then move it, but that was just silly if you ask me, which you didnt. There are things that I occasionally post here that are not canada related, simply becasue this its where the people I "know" hang out, but I wouldnt dream of starting them in TIO.

Why are you always having a dig at the mods? Give us a break please.

The threads in question were made to wind up another member, we let it go on for a bit then decided to draw it to a close. Stuff like that is alright up to a point but we have to stop it eventually, cause once it goes on too long its not really funny anymore.

That is the point - it was getting out of hand as it was there to carry on winding someone up. Nuff said.

How was a question about Obamas image winding people up? If it was the second non sequeteur post that was the problem, then just spike that one rather than kill what would have been (I thought) an interesting idea.

And morninton crescent is just a (very) stupid game, isnt it?

Anyway, mods do what they think they have to. I wouldnt want your job so I'll butt out. But I still dont get it.

I wasn't taking the proverbial in the if thread. I'm sorry you saw it that way. Maybe I needed to be clearer but 2 answers is hardly enough to decide on my intent, especially as I hadn't posted again.

Mornington Crescent is a simple amusing running joke taken from Radio 4 "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" It's pleasant trivia with no subtext, no discussions are needed. It's hardly controversial.

I don't go to the other fora, when a thread is moved to there I no longer read them.

If we can't post non Canadian topics in the Maple Leaf thread then what's it for?
