Well if you take your plates in they will refund you the money you have paid to register those plates (the part of the year remaining). Isn't this called cancelling your registration?

Just goes to show that there realy are bad people living in canada.
Driving around in un insured, untagged vehicles and gettin a free ride is very naughty.
What can you do though, the op did all he could to inform mto about the sale and transfered his plate accordingly.

I think there are 2 different issues here. Ownership of the plates and Ownership of the vehicle. That is two different things.
