Excuse me, but can you drop this attitude? Firstly, everyone on this forum has left or is considering leaving the UK. You're being ignorant and offensive. And as it happens, the reason I'm "buggering off" is because the Immigration policies set by the UKBA make it impossible for me to bring my wife to be here to the UK to live with me.

So you might want to think twice before you speak.

Edit:

And I will go as far as to say that you have resorted to cheap personal attacks. It seems that any idiot can be a big man behind his computer.

But can new entrants to the EU avoid signing up to the Euro? The Uk's opt out was a one off. Any new entrants have to sign up to convergence critera with a view to joining the Euro. That will mean running budget deficits. In the meantime an Independent Scotland would have to use some other currency. I suppose it could use the UK pound like Panama uses the US dollar. Either way fiscal policy is determined by Germany or the UK.

If I am still in Scotland in 2014 I will vote for Devo-Max.

Well they did do a good version of Whip It & Secret Agent Man.
Im guessing if still together they might be on tour and have no time for this referendum.

Are you capable of making a post that isn't a joke?

Edit: And what does the fact that you were born in Glasgow have to do with anything?

Was an a priori justification to make you look for one or was it just a speculative exercise?

Then you are going to have to explain how germany or the UK government would dictate the level of taxation, government spending, the amount of scottish issued bonds etc post independence.

If germany could actually dictate fiscal policy to eurozone members then maybe greece and italy wouldn't be in such a mess.

Well if they don't sort that out, that would make running your own fiscal policies a bit of a bugger,
Try running an "indenpendant" scotish economy with the English government owned bank as your main supporting partner....
