Wonder what the odds for all those SPL results would have been?

10/1 Hibs - 4/1 Hearts - 6/1 st mirren

A wee brown pound on them would have went down well

New structure for scottish leagues Vote on 20/12/101:
Proposale off:

SPL 1 - 10 TEAMS

SPL 2 - 10 TEAMS

REGIONAL 1 and 2 leagues

Play off for second bottom of spl 1 with 2nd 3rd & 4th of spl 2.
(Two semis & a final) For promo to spl 1
Last in spl 1 down and first in spl 2 up.
Also a poss of spl 1 clubs having feeder clubs in regional leagues (as in spain).

So what do you think? still boring with 10 teams playing each other at least 4times a season.?

Games would start in mid july with a winter break.

Well it,s better than the dross on offer the noo and crowds are dropping quicker than the temps in scotland.

2 x 10 team leagues make no sense  you will still end up with the same teams playing each other up to 5 or 6 times a season - A very radical re-think is needed and god knows what that is

(Be nice to see dundee being given their 25 points back and automatic promotion back to the big league though :p )

I suppose the play offs add a little drama at the end of the season, but i really dont think a winter break will bring the fans back....good football will.

I think there's more chance of Neill Lennon getting a Christmas pressie from the referees association:rofl:

As a st.johnstone fan! Dundee should have got a 50 point penalty and they should have been made to clean the snow from mc diarmid park for the rest of the winter...........

Resurrecting this thread to post what must be the most bizarre Director's Statement EVER from a professional football club. This is the club that finished 3rd in the SPL.

Here's what "Mad Vlad", the owner of Hearts FC, Vladimir Romanov, has posted as a Board of Directors' statement on the official club site...:blink::blink:

Had a wee gander at this, this morning in the Daily Record:rofl:

Quite bizarre, you'd expect a Russian/Lithuanian would be happy with mafia interference.

Who's he talking about?The SFA????

Are you serious? Celtic and Rangers are the worst things about Scottish football - pure sectarian, avaricious poison.

This is a great day for Scottish football fans. Cheats will not prosper.

Serious, yes. So is your suggestion that Celtic go the same route ? then what? I loathe the Rebel/Orange crap by the way.
Rangers will only come back as something new anyway.............
