Rich or poor based on neutral facial expression. Student study.
Interesting. Rich or poor based on face, apparently college students in the study were correct 68% of the time.

Props are everything. I am long retired, with no pension, and eke out my modest savings with some part-time consulting. One of my clients said to me the other day, "Gordon, you dress like every rich man I've ever known!" I smiled and let it pass, but it's a trick I learnt as a young man working for a Trust Company in Nassau, where the richer the client, the less fussy he was with his clothes. Those who wore smart three-piece suits and shiny shoes were nobodies - American lawyers or similar who were dealing with someone else's money. Those who wore shirts that could only be described as tatty, were English "old money". I remember one old chap whose well-worn shirt was actually coming apart at the seams and who always needed a haircut; he was a Duke who owned a large slice of England.

Remember when torn jeans were a sign of little money rather than more money than sense
