Removers
#1
Hi guys, just wondering how many of you used Fox's removals and what you thought of them. I have been haggling with them and Robinsons all afternoon and it all comes down to recommendation, may I have you thoughts please?

I would also value thoughts on this as we are considering one of those 2 also.

We wish we had chosen Fox! Our choice was between Anglo Pacific and Fox's, we chose the most expensive of the two because the guy who came out to us was superb...The packing team for Anglo Pacific were careless, late and basically hopeless...they destroyed our staircase, 2nd bedroom carpet, living room walls and hallway...we ended up haggling for repairs before we left the UK. In all fairness we used the Manchester branch and they were useless...the London Branch were the ones who dealt with the 'aftermath' and were very effiicient and we got our claim paid in full. When our 20 ft container was unpacked here in Canada we had lots of damage done to personal items....Sorry Canada Dreams can`t recommend AP but maybe you are using the London office also it depends on the packing team! .....Bellanova, we have seen lots of recommendations for Fox`s on here, try and do a search for posts relating to them?
Good luck with your packing!

if they damage anything they will pay

we moved from hertfordshire to newfoundland and got 20 like for like quotes, we went for vip door to door service, 20 foot sole use container, they came, they packed, they supplied EVERYTHING, they did ALL the necassary paperwork.
They shipped, cleared customs, delivered, unpacked and took the crap away, over 100 large boxes, not 1 thing was broken, not 1.
GBP 3,900 + about GBP150 insurance.
The highest quote we got, funnily enoung (that's why I am replying) was through Anglo Pacific, that was over six grand, the lowest was GBP3300, but the company had no association memberships.
Can't recommend our movers highly enough, European Van Lines in Stains.
(yes.....I know it says European)!!

We used Anglo Pacific - door to door. They came and packed up pretty much the entire house into a 20ft container and then unloaded it this end. Excellent service, only 2 glasses broken in the entire container (and they were in a new/sealed box). Total costs was just under £3700, plus an extra £150 for insurance.

we've had pss, pickfords, robinsons, overs and tommorrow, stuart harvey......i'm exhausted just talking to these guys......not sure who is 'best' as yet, as they all seem to offer the same door to door service.....i'm quessing it will come down to price and the guy we liked the most.....not very scientific i know but so far overs was the 'nicest'!!!!

We're in the process of having our stuff shipped using Fox.
The guys doing the packing were nice, repacked some bits, left some others as we'd packed them but eventually got it all on the lorry.
Communication from head office hasn't exactly been overwhelming though, the container was supposed to be getting a boat on the 8th September to get our stuff to Victoria during the 1st week in October. Turns out it's not even on a boat yet, won't get to Montreal until 2nd Oct and then another 10 days across to Victoria but there you go, not the end of the world but means we're going to have to buy an airbed and sit watching the walls for a couple of weeks.
Can't say whether they've broken/lost anything and haven't yet had any paperwork through in terms of packing lists etc so we can do the goods to follow.
